Boxrun was born in January 2016. An urban urgent messaging startup
focused on serving SMEs and individuals.
After a year of work and after getting some investment we decided
to launch our MVP to the market to validate the idea. After 6 months
offering services to companies and individuals we decided to stop
the service to analyze the results and try to get more investment.
Despite having obtained positive results our traction did not become
sufficient and we did not get investment to continue with the project.
My main tasks were the design of the product and the creation
and development of the brand image.
I wish I had at that time the knowledge I have now about user
experience. We did not carry out a complete Design Thinking process
to develop our product, we lacked to empathize, prototype and test
more deeply, but at that time we did not have time (or so we thought,
big mistake ...).
We managed to market a functional product, both on the web and in
the browser. Learning throughout the entire process was a constant.
At the business level we spend hours analyzing our numbers and
making expense projections in Excel. We design response mails,
several versions of the pitch, brochures for commercials,
corporate material. And from an operational point of view we face
the management of the delivery team and the control of operations
and services.
Despite the business failure of the project, on a personal level
I consider it a success. It opened the doors to the startup world,
and made me see that my next destination as a professional was going
through the UX / UI design.
